The Project - We have started sending a landscape watercolor journal out on a journey of BAA Artists. The idea is to capture a little bit of your creativity, but also to learn a little bit more about our artists; what and why they create. Once an artist has completed a spread (two facing pages), they will pass it along to another BAA artist. At the end of the project we hope to have a full journal that we can share online. Just another way to learn more about each other, what makes us tick. Think of it as a visual memoir of two pages.
Fill the pages with whatever you want! Just fill the two pages with something that is both interesting and tells us a little bit more about yourself. If you can tell your little story in sketches or pictures, great. But adding some text to describe your thoughts, inspiration, or artistic journey will tell us so much.
The Format - Anything goes. Sketch, draw, paint, scribble, use whatever medium you want. Fill the pages with life. If you want to take a photo of something you have painted and tape it to the page, go for it. Digital artists or photographers, tape a printout of your work to the page and tell us what it means to you. But don't be afraid to add some sketches or scribbles or notes. Show us your art, write a poem, tell a story, or tell us about your day. Random words. Do all those things, you have two full pages. If you are new to sketch booking, go online for inspiration.
Sign It - OK, make sure you sign and date it.
Your Responsibility - Don't take it too seriously, sketchbooks are not precious things.
Then ….
Don't take too long, try to get it done in a week or two
When you are done pass it along to another BAA Artist
The next BAA Artist takes the next two facing pages
If you can't find a willing recipient just send us an email and we'll find its next stop
Let us know where you sent it next, just send an email to bartsassoc@gmail.com saying "The Journal Project is now with XXXXX"
We'll keep track of its progress, and help move it along if need be
Last but not least, have fun, art, after all, is supposed to be fun
